The Artform Studio : Haircuts & Records

THE ARTFORM STUDIO

Over the years, it has been justified that beauty and melody are synonymous, and husband-and-wife team Adrian and Sherry Younge showcase just that at The Artform Studio.

After nearly a decade in Downtown Los Angeles' Arts District, The Artform Studio has relocated to the historic Los Angeles neighborhood, Highland Park. The caliber of the studio has only risen since their big move, and both Adrian and Sherry continue to be one of the only places in Los Angeles where their synthesis of the hair and music world makes this a destination for all creative people and families alike.

Wife, Sherry Younge served as a hair and makeup specialist for various upscale salons throughout Los Angeles such as Pomp Studio and Carlton Hair International. She has worked with names like make up for Goapele, haircuts for Zack De La Rocha, make up for Simone Missick, and haircuts for Tegan Quin. Sherry has also always been one of the main curators for Adrian's musical endeavors as well. She was responsible for hair, makeup, and wardrobe for music videos and/or album covers for Ghostface Killah Twelve Reasons To Die, Souls of Mischief There Is Only Now, one of Adrian's most renowned projects Something About April, and Voices of Gemma.

Husband, Adrian Younge, who brings the musical components to The Artform Studio, has produced for artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, Common, Wu-Tang, and has most recently scored Marvel's Luke Cage alongside A Tribe Called Quest's Ali Shaheed Muhammad. The record boutique features thousands of rare vinyl and books, curated by Adrian’s infatuation with classic Hip Hop, jazz, rare soul, and psychedelic world music. The boutiques' bespoke approach is further curated by co-owner and concert producer/promoter Andrew Lojero (ArtDontSleep).

Being that Sherry and Adrian's worlds were often intertwined, they wanted to create a safe haven for artists and urban professionals. They also offer their space for several different types of creative events! Some of the most notable past events were with The Recording Academy Grammy Pro 'Buzzin' which featured artists like Bilal, Kamasi Washington, and Andra Day, and of course you can't forget about their yearly celebration on Record Store Day featuring Sherry's 'The Artforms of Yesterday' ; which showcases the stylists of The Artform Studio's modern hair and makeup design approach on an old album cover, and Adrian cultivates a legendary lineup of DJ's to celebrate the culture.

The Artform Studio's services include men and women haircuts, hair coloring, hair styling, perm / relaxer, hair extensions, and make up application. For further details or to schedule an appointment click here.
