The Artforms of Yesterday: Minnie Riperton

Artform Artist Steffan uses inspiration from Minnie Riperton's LP Cover art for her debut solo album "Come To My Garden". Although commercially unsucessful at the time, this beautiful blend of Rock, Pop, R&B, and Gospel would set the stage for Riperton's later works and is now revered as a classic. In working with her model, Steffan blended Riperton's sweet, serene spirit and the tranquility of the garden into her artistry recreating calmness and using greens and yellows in her make up work to symbolize the model as one with the garden's surroundings.
